James Sheppard

Skills Coach

James grew up in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, developing his game through the local minor hockey system before moving on to elite levels of competition. He played major junior hockey with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, where his skill, hockey IQ, and compete level quickly stood out.

His junior career led to an incredible milestone — James was selected 9th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild, going on to play several seasons at the NHL level along with a long professional career.

James brings firsthand experience from every step of the hockey pathway — from local rinks in Nova Scotia to the highest levels of the game — and we're excited for our athletes to learn from his knowledge, detail, and professional habits.
